I HATE that I don’t have any time to post anymore. It’s killing me!
Since I have about 5 minutes of free-time tonight, I wanted to share two really wonderful things that happened today. And by wonderful, yes, I do mean hilarious.
First, I went to the gym this morning. I may or may not have told y’all that I did something to my hip/leg area a while back and had to quit running. I’ve been testing different, low-impact machines in the cardio room, which is fun but nowhere near as rewarding as running.
Anyway, there I was, using some strange machine that was a cross between an elliptical, ski-machine, and stair-climber. A really pretty African American girl had gotten on the machine next to me a few minutes earlier. Well, this guy walks past us, gives us both a once-over, then puts on his most suave face and turns to the girl next to me.
“You work out a lot?”
I swear, this woman didn’t even flinch. She had been watching a program one of the gym’s TVs. Her eyes still focussed on whatever show was on, she said,
“I teach a self-defense class four nights a week and I am an expert in Jiu-Jitsu. If you want to leave this gym with all your limbs in tact, I suggest you walk away now.”
Needless to say, he walked away. I glanced sideways at this girl, very impressed. She noticed me staring and leaned sideways.
“I have no clue what Jiu-Jitsu is and I have never even taken a self-defense class. I just made all that up.”
I have never been more in awe of someone in my whole life. It was beautiful.
Later in the afternoon, I was in French class, wishing I was not in French class. Midway through our professor’s lecture, the guy next to me pulls something wrapped in a paper towel. He proceeds to unwrap this something, which turns out to be a whole baked potato.
Then, he spent the rest of class eating it.
I don’t even know.
Until next time (hopefully soon!)
PS – Thanksgiving break is NEXT WEEK! Hoorah!
